Last updated: January 14, 2026

Check WellCare (“we,” “our,” “us”) provides automated wellness check-ins and caregiver notifications designed to support independent living. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information with a commitment to total transparency.

Our Privacy Promise: We do NOT sell personal data. Period. We make money from subscriptions, not from selling your family's information.

1) Information We Collect

  • Account Information: Names, emails, and phone numbers for both caregivers and seniors.
  • Check-in Data: Automated call logs, full text transcripts of calls, audio recordings (if enabled), and 30-second audio snippets.
  • Wellness Metrics: Self-reported pain levels, medication adherence, and mood/sentiment data analyzed by our AI assistant "Ava".
  • Technical Data: IP addresses, browser types, and timestamps used for security and troubleshooting.

2) How We Use Your Information

  • To place daily wellness calls and deliver real-time SMS or email alerts to caregivers.
  • To generate "Mood Scores" and wellness trend reports through AI sentiment analysis.
  • To maintain our HIPAA-compliant architecture and protect the platform from abuse.

3) Data Sharing & Third Parties

We share data only with trusted service providers essential to our operations (such as telephony providers for Ava’s calls and secure cloud storage). These providers are strictly prohibited from using your data for any other purpose. We do not share wellness data with any third-party advertisers.

4) Retention & Deletion

We retain records as long as your account is active to provide consistent wellness trending. You may request a full data export or the permanent deletion of your account and all associated call logs at any time.

5) Healthcare-Grade Security

We use industry-leading safeguards to protect sensitive family data, including AES-256 encryption for data at rest and TLS encryption for data in transit. Our architecture is designed to meet HIPAA-grade security standards.

6) Caregiver Responsibility & Consent

Caregivers are responsible for obtaining explicit consent from the senior (care recipient) before enrolling them in the service. If a senior wishes to opt-out of daily calls, they may do so at any time by contacting us directly.
